You simply can't visit New York without taking in at least one Broadway show! It's one of the ultimate New York City experiences.
I've often been asked if it's worth seeing a Broadway production if you've already seen the movie version, and I always answer with a resounding, "YES". There's nothing like hearing beautiful voices singing and hearing wonderfully crafted music performed live and in person. It's not that recordings and movies of musicals are bad, it's just that you lose some of the magic and grandeur of a piece that you get to experience during a live performance.
Of course, the best place to get tickets is the Broadway shows official website (you'll save yourself a whole bunch of extra charges), but for sold out shows and discounted seats, you can also try Broadway Box.com, Playbill.com or Theatermania.com.
